Skin Sensitivity: Raw urushi contains urushiol, which may cause allergic reactions or skin irritation similar to poison ivy.
Protection: Always wear the provided gloves during handling. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
First Aid: If urushi touches your skin, wipe it off immediately using a paper towel with vegetable oil (e.g., olive or canola oil) before washing thoroughly with warm water and soap. Do not use water first, as urushi is oil-soluble.
